The North American Taekwondo and Hoijeon Moosool Academy holds a very rich history and strong lineage in Chang Moo Kwan Taekwondo and Hoijeon Moosool Hapkido. We honor these men and women whom dedicated their lives to the establishment and growth of martial arts in America, specifically Taekwondo and Hoijeon Mooosool as well as their devoted students. Many thanks and honors to these men and women for their past and on-going contributions.

  • Founded Johnson’s Ju Jitsu and Karate Club (later named North American Taekwondo and Hoijeon Moosool) in 1959
  • Established University of Michigan ROTC TKD Club – 1972
  • Received World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) International Master Degree – 1975
  • Received World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) International Referee Certification – 1977
  • Received World Taekwondo Federation Citation for Developing TKD as World Sport – 1985
  • Helped Systemize the Art of Hoijeon Moosool in 1986
  • President North American Tae Kwon Do Association from 1976 to 2006
  • President United States Hoijeon Moosool Headquarters – Jan. 8, 1988 to 2006
  • Received 9th Dan in Taekwondo in 2005
