NATA at home: April 9, 2020

Great job on the work so far. Keep it up everyone!

Seventeen journal entries so far

So far, we have received 16 Taekwondo and one Hoijeon Moosool journal entries from the week of the of March 30th. This is a great response rate for our first real week of at home training. Keep it going.

Live session this Saturday, April 11th

We are planning our second live interaction coming up this Saturday April 11th.  As before, we will connect via Zoom, so please take a look at that and get familiar with it if you can.

Senior black belt and staff meeting will be at 11am.
This senior black belt and staff meeting is for adult black belts and 1st gup (red and black stripe) staff members only. In this 40 minute meeting we will discuss our plans for the 12pm live session, as well as some plans for the weeks to come.

All student’s meeting will be at 12pm.
This meeting is for all NATA students, Taekwondo and Hoijeon Moosool. We may split the classes next weekend for more specific training (or maybe not…), but for this Saturday, we are all together again.

For the sake of security, we will require a password for meeting this weekend. It is the Korean word for side kick, all lowercase, one word (no space).

We are still working on the rewards

Crafting a comparable martial arts program for at-home training is taking a bit more creativity than we expected. Please rest assured we have your proof of practice and your journal entries. We are so thrilled to see everyone putting in their hard work and showing off in style (we loved the pandas!).

Please give us a bit more time to work out the kinks. We should have something for you all within the next two weeks. In the meanwhile, please keep tracking your progress and sending the photos.

Photo release reminder

We would like to use your photo proof from time to time and show the world your hard work. Specifically, we would like to post the photos here on our website for the leaderboards.

According to the sign-up sheet you previously signed (when you began training with us), you agreed to allow us to use your photos.

That said, we would also like to thoroughly respect your privacy and only feature photos you agree to share. To this end, please do one of the following:

  • Only send photos you may be comfortable seeing online (on this website)
  • Specifically state that you do not wish to have a particular photo posted when you send it in. To be extra clear, please put it in the filename. For example, name it something like“andrew_anders_DO_NOT_POST.JPG”.

This will help us know who is comfortable with what and give us clarity on what we can work with.

Stay safe, work hard, have fun!

See you Saturday!
